Description
CHICKEN CHILLI
Chicken chilli is a spicy and flavorful dish made with diced or shredded chicken, chilli peppers, onions, garlic, and a variety of spices and seasonings.
To prepare chicken chilli, the chicken is first cooked in a skillet or wok with oil until browned and cooked through. The onions and garlic are then added and sautéed until fragrant and translucent. Next, chilli peppers, such as jalapeños or serranos, are added to the pan and cooked until soft.
To add depth of flavour, a variety of spices and seasonings are added, which may include cumin, chilli powder, paprika, oregano, and salt. Tomatoes, tomato sauce, or chicken broth may also be added to create a sauce or broth.
The chicken chilli is then simmered until the flavours have melded together and the sauce has thickened slightly. It is typically served with rice, tortilla chips, or cornbread and garnished with cilantro, cheese, and/or sour cream.
Chicken chilli is a popular dish in Tex-Mex and Southwestern cuisine and can be made to varying levels of spiciness depending on personal preference.
